Terms of Service
Last updated 4 November 2026
These terms cover the SloePost desktop application and this website. By installing or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. What SloePost is
SloePost is a local desktop tool that watches a folder you choose, transcribes video on your machine, drafts captions with an AI provider you configure, renders captions into a new video file, and publishes to platforms you connect.
SloePost is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TikTok, Google, YouTube, or any AI provider. All trademarks belong to their owners.
2. Licence
The application source code is released under the MIT Licence. That licence covers the code. It does not grant rights to the SloePost name, the snail mark, or this website's text.
3. Your content
You keep all rights to the videos, audio, transcripts, and captions you process. We claim no licence to your content. The app does not upload your files anywhere except the platforms you explicitly publish to.
You are responsible for having the rights to publish what you publish, including music, footage, and anyone appearing in it.
4. Third-party platforms
Publishing uses the official APIs of TikTok and YouTube. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and policies, which you must follow. This includes their rules on disclosure of sponsored content, music licensing, and community guidelines.
Platform approval is outside our control. TikTok restricts posts from unaudited applications to private viewing. The app shows this state rather than hiding it.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use SloePost to:
- publish content you do not have the rights to;
- impersonate another person or organisation;
- violate the terms of TikTok, YouTube, or your AI provider;
- circumvent platform review, rate limits, or access controls;
- distribute malware or unlawful material.
6. AI-generated copy
Titles, descriptions, and hashtags are generated by a model you choose. They can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable. You review every draft before publishing. SloePost does not guarantee accuracy, originality, or that generated text will not resemble existing material.
7. No warranty
The app is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. It may fail to process a file, lose a draft, or be interrupted by a platform change.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost content, lost reach, or lost revenue arising from use of the app.
9. Changes
These terms may change as the app changes. The date at the top will move. Material changes will be noted in the repository's release notes.
