Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 November 2026
The short version. Transcription and caption rendering happen on your machine. Draft text goes only to the AI provider you configure. Your video goes only to the platform you publish to, only when you press publish. There is no account, no telemetry, and no SloePost server.
1. What stays on your machine
- Your video files, and any copy the app renders
- Extracted audio, which is deleted after transcription
- The transcript and word timings
- Drafts, notes, caption styles, and settings
- Logs, which are written locally and redacted
2. What leaves your machine
To your AI provider
When you generate or regenerate copy, the app sends the transcript text, your notes, and the preset values (tone, hashtag count, language, brand-voice samples, extra instructions), plus the platform name and video duration. It does not send the video, the audio, or any file path. You choose the provider and supply the key.
To TikTok and YouTube
When you publish, the app uploads the rendered video file, the title, description, hashtags, and the visibility setting you chose to the platform you selected. This is inherent to posting. Each platform handles that data under its own privacy policy.
Nothing else
There is no SloePost server. There is no analytics, crash reporting, advertising SDK, or update ping. The only network requests are to your AI provider, the model download host, and the platform APIs you connect.
3. What we never collect
- Your name, email, or any account
- Your video or audio content
- Usage analytics or behavioural data
- Crash reports sent off your machine
4. Credentials
API keys and OAuth tokens are stored in the operating system keychain. They are never written to the database, the configuration files, the logs, the diagnostics output, or the interface. Disconnecting an account revokes the token and deletes the stored copy.
5. Logs
Logs stay on your machine and rotate automatically. They contain operational events and error codes. They never contain API keys, OAuth tokens, transcript text, or prompt bodies. You can delete them at any time.
6. Third parties
Depending on how you configure the app, these parties may process data:
- Your AI provider — the transcript and notes you send for drafting
- TikTok — the published video and metadata
- YouTube / Google — the published video and metadata
- The model download host — a request for the transcription model file
Their handling is governed by their own policies, not this one. SloePost does not receive a copy of anything you send to them.
7. Retention and deletion
Everything the app stores lives in its application data directory on your machine. Deleting that directory removes the database, logs, downloaded models, and rendered copies. Your source videos are never touched.
Deleting the app does not delete posts you already published. Remove those on the platform itself.
8. Your rights
Because the app holds no account and sends nothing to us, there is no server-side profile to request, export, or erase. You control all local data directly through the filesystem. Where the law grants you rights over data held by a provider or a platform, exercise them with that provider or platform.
9. Children
SloePost is not directed at children under 13 and requires a platform account that meets each platform's minimum age.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will move. Material changes will be noted in the repository's release notes.
